Dr. Chappie Conrad is the founding medical director of Northwest Tissue Services and has guided the organization to its current position as one of the most respected human tissue organizations in the U.S. Dr. Conrad also serves as Professor and Co-Vice Chair of Orthopedic Services at the University of Washington Medical Center, Director, Department of Orthopedics and Chief, Orthopedic Oncology at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center, and Director of Sarcoma Service at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Conrad then completed a fellowship in orthopedic oncology at the University of Florida and pediatric orthopedics at The Hospital for Sick Children of Hugh McMillan Medical Center in Toronto, Canada. He is board certified in musculoskeletal oncology and specializes in tumor services and sarcoma.

Dr. Conrad's is noted for his expertise in extremity limb salvage, pelvic resections for malignancies, and surgery for soft-tissue sarcomas. His work with allograft transplantation and implant design has resulted in many advances in limb-sparing procedures.
