About the Northwest Tissue Services
The Northwest Tissue Services, a nonprofit organization, provides high-quality musculoskeletal and cardiovascular tissue for transplantation in Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WAMI). The Tissue Services was established in 1988 through agreements between the Puget Sound Blood Center, the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics and the Northwest Kidney Center.
Regional Cooperation The Tissue Center participates in a coordinated effort among all regional procurement agencies (tissue, organ, eye) to identify donors and obtain informed consent.
Donor Referrals For donor referrals, please call one of the 24 hour referral lines:
- 1-888-266-4466 for a non-ventilated patient
- 1-888-543-3287 for a patient on ventilator
Product Safety The Tissue Center conducts thorough serological, microbiological, medical and social history screening of each donor to ensure tissue safety and quality.
